Uber Eats closing down in Bangladesh


International ride sharing company Uber's food delivery service 'Uber It's' is going to be closed in Bangladesh. Uber Eats service will not be available in Bangladesh from June 2.

In a blog post on the website of Uber's Indian regional office on Tuesday, it was announced that Uber It's service in Bangladesh will be stopped. It said, 'After a year of delivering food in an easy and reliable way, we have been forced to make a difficult decision. It has been decided to stop the activities of Uber Eats in Bangladesh from June 2, 2020.

In a press release from Uber Bangladesh, it was further stated that Uber Eats wants to focus more on their big markets.
Uber Eats launched in Bangladesh in April last year. They are shutting down the service within a year of launch. The blog post further states that their ride sharing service will continue.

A Reuters report on May 4 said Uber It's withdrawing from eight more countries. These include the Czech Republic, Egypt, Honduras, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, and Uruguay. In addition, Uber Eats is becoming one with a local organization in the United Arab Emirates.
According to CNBC, Uber is closing 45 offices around the world, including its Asia Pacific head office in Singapore.
