Billions of people will live in space within the next two decades: Jeff Bezos

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has expressed optimism about the future of human civilization. According to him, the world is not on the verge of destruction due to technological advancements, but is entering an era of new possibilities or 'abundance of civilization'. Not only that, but within the next two decades, millions of people will live in space. He said these words at a discussion held at the 'Italian Tech Week 2025' recently organized in Italy.

Bezos said he doesn't understand the negative talk about artificial intelligence (AI) around the world. In his words, "I don't understand how anyone can be discouraged right now. Technology is moving so fast that there are so many promising things to look forward to." According to Bezos, within the next two decades, millions of people will live in space. In this regard, he said, "I believe that by 2045, millions of people will be in space. The pace of change will be so rapid that this reality is not far off."

Bezos believes that humans will not be forced to live in space. In this regard, he said that in the future, robots will do the labor-intensive work that will be required on the moon or any other planet. And therefore, human residence in space will not be mandatory, but a matter of choice.

Bezos also believes that AI will not take away human work. According to him, every advancement in technology has increased the prosperity of human civilization. The abundance of civilization comes from innovation. When someone invented the plow thousands of years ago, the journey of mankind on the path of prosperity began. Every new technology increases productivity. This trend will continue in the future as well.
